For Impact

Joe Thompson

Data Analyst & Business Process Coordinator

Joe joined For Impact as an intern in 2017 following his first year at the University of Notre Dame. Upon graduation from Notre Dame in 2020 with a BBA in Business Analytics and a supplementary degree in Economics, he joined For Impact full time as the team’s Data Analyst and Business Process Coordinator.

A firm believer in both the power of data and the positive role business can play in society, Joe pursued these beliefs in tandem as a student at Notre Dame. He served as the Data Manager for the Notre Dame Baseball Analytics Club, using real data from the Notre Dame varsity baseball team to drive in-game strategy and insights. He also had the privilege of leading a collaborative project with Community Empowerment Solutions (CES), an organization dedicated to providing relief and financial literacy training to Latin America, to develop a strategic plan for CES’s foray into consulting work.

Joe knows firsthand the importance of “For Impact” organizations through his volunteer work at the Westerville Area Resource Ministry and the South Bend Center for the Homeless. He is excited to help drive the adaptation of data-driven analysis in the nonprofit sector. In his free time, he enjoys reading, writing fiction, spending time outdoors, and cheering on his beloved Fighting Irish.
