Kate Verlaan

For Impact Coach

Kate comes to For Impact with close to 15 years of development experience with her career taking her all over the world – from China to Ethiopia to the Netherlands. While serving as head of development at Water for People, she became familiar with For Impact’s fundraising model in 2011, using its principles to take the organization from a $13 million budget to one of almost $20 million in two years. Most recently, at International Development Enterprises (iDE), Kate increased private annual support by more than 500% in less than two years.

Since joining For Impact, Kate will continue her work in coaching organizations to find a new way of working that will radically transform organizational income and change the world. Kate’s global work has brought her to the front lines of disease, poverty and war and knows that philanthropy will reduce inequalities and drive change for humanity. She is personally driven by the opportunity of making the world a better place.

Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Art History from the University of Colorado and a Master of Arts in China Studies from the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies. She is currently based in Denver with her husband, Jasper, and has two little girls, Annabel and Eliza.
