Just Ask and J.A.

For Impact Ideas | | Tom Suddes

I spent a really great day with the leadership of Junior Achievement at their National Conference. (Which, by the way, was held in Grand Rapids at the Amway Grand Hotel & Conference Center — a community investment from two entrepreneurial super heroes, Richard DeVos and Jay Van Andel.)

The 3-hour session literally ‘flew by’. So much to share. So little time.

However, the entire 3 hours can be captured in two letters: J.A. Junior Achievement. Just Ask.

Junior Achievement has a simple message: To INSPIRE and PREPAREYOUNG PEOPLE… to SUCCEED in a GLOBAL ECONOMY. There are 3 story lines around: Youth Development, Educational Development and Economic Development. The ‘how’ they do that is through their 3 big, big, big priorities around Entrepreneurship, Work Readiness and Financial Literacy.

They can certainly stake a claim that they are a ‘Best In The World’ at delivering many of these programs to young people.

They need to go out and JUST ASK… more people… for more support… towards more youth served… and more IMPACT.

Ask and it shall be given.
Seek and you shall find.
Knock and it shall be opened to you.

*This biblical verse/challenge not only encourages us what to do, the first 3 letters also represent the word ASK! It’s a Dan Brown, Da Vinci Code, not-so-secret code: ASK!

“If you don’t ASK, you don’t get.”
– Gandhi

“Rak B’vakaysh!!
ONLY ASK!”

-Hebrew

Ach Direach Cuir Ceist!!
BUT ONLY PUT THE QUESTION
– Gaelic

Action: Anyone reading this needs to incorporate this principle, this philosophy, this methodology of JUST ASK into their lives and into their organizations.

You’ll be amazed at what happens.

Tried to get their attention.
