Kristi Nelson

Partner

Kristi brings two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector, with a strong focus on fund development. Before becoming a part of the For Impact team, she was a client who witnessed firsthand the transformative power of a mission-focused approach and a disciplined funding strategy. Now, Kristi is excited to help other teams achieve similar successes by leveraging the insights she gained during her previous work with For Impact.

Her career has been dedicated to causes related to educational access and promoting healthy child and family development to build thriving communities. Most recently, Kristi served as the Chief Development Officer at Childhaven (now Akin), where she led a team of dedicated professionals and collaborated with board members and organizational leaders to advance the organization’s mission of supporting young children and their families in reaching their full potential.

Kristi holds a bachelor’s degree in Theology and a master’s degree in Business Administration, both from Seattle Pacific University. She lives in Seattle with her husband, Jesse, and their two sons, Jeff and Sol. The family shares a passion for physical activities, and Kristi and Jesse are avid participants in endurance events, including IronMan Triathlons. Outside of work, Kristi enjoys outdoor adventures with her family and cheering on her kids in their various activities.
