Having done 500+ ‘Campaigns’ over the last 35 years, we know that TRADITIONAL Campaigns are an outdated, antiquated, always done it this way, activity. It’s another leftover from the ’50’s. Conversely, FUNDING THE VISION is an ongoing (not just every ‘5 years’) effort. It’s a ‘TOP DOWN’ model. It’s built on RELATIONSHIPS (not campaign transactions.)

Classic ‘TRADITIONAL’ campaigns are built around:

  • Planning for 2 to 3 Years
  • Running a Campaign for 5 Years
  • Cooling Off for 2 or 3 Years … … and then doing it all over again.

The missed opportunities in this cycle are ridiculous.


Funding initiatives are about FUNDING THE VISION – an ongoing commitment to a funding model built on RELATIONSHIPS and
maximizing those relationships at this given moment. The alternative to feasibility studies, case statements, strategic plans, volunteer solicitation, silent phases, campaign committees, campaign videos, campaign brochures and campaign staff are: Funding Initiatives, Funding Priorities or Funding Projects. There is a lot of good in creating a sense of urgency, a timetable, specific goals, and focus.
